Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager 0.5%
Updated: Oct 17
Lucky Saint has become the benchmark for alcohol-free lager in the UK, and it is not hard to see why. Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager 0.5% is brewed in Bavaria using pilsner malt, Hallertau hops, spring water and yeast — nothing else — and left unfiltered, it arrives with more body than most of its competitors dare attempt.

Ingredients: water, malted barley, hops, yeast.
The pour is convincing. A hazy pale gold with a decent head that holds long enough to feel legitimate. On the nose, something grassy and faintly citrus — it signals straight away that you are not about to drink something watered down. The taste follows through: clean, malty, with a dry bitter finish that makes you want another sip rather than setting the glass down.
At around £1.80 a can on promotion it represents solid value for a drink that punches well above its category. Widely available in supermarkets and increasingly on draught, it passes the pub test without drawing attention to itself.
