Birra Moretti Zero 0.0%
Updated: Oct 17
Birra Moretti Zero is the entry that completes the supermarket lager picture — the Italian option sitting alongside Heineken and Beck's on the bottom shelf, priced for accessibility and widely available everywhere.

Ingredients: water, malted barley, maize, hops, yeast.
The pour is clear pale gold with fine carbonation and a modest white head — clean and uncomplicated. The aroma is mild, with a faint malt note and little else to speak of. On the palate it is light, crisp, and inoffensive — easier drinking than Beck's Blue with a slightly cleaner finish and none of the sharpness that can catch you off guard with Heineken 0.0. It does not have the body or hop character of Lucky Saint, but it does not pretend to. It is a straightforward lager that does what it sets out to do without fuss.
At around £1.00 to £1.50 a can it is the most affordable option in this section alongside Beck's, and the most drinkable of the budget supermarket lagers reviewed here.
